Coughing My Ass Off

Hey guys! As seen in the title I'm coughing my ass of since yesterday morning. Yesterday my school was closed because of the flu outbreak. I believe most of the the student body has the flu. Apparently I'm one of them. I look like a total wreck. Every bone in my body hurts and I didn't sleep a wink last night. Last night, while I was surfing some web pages that Marauder told me, I found really cool pics but I can't publish them for a reason I don't know. Here are some photos I took a few weeks ago. Enjoy!

It's Been A Long Long Weekend

Hey there!
You can't imagine how tired I am right now. It's been quite a long, tiring weekend. I was planning to slouch all weekend long just like a cat but the exact opposite happened. Friday was great, I feell asleep reading "Pride&Prejudice". I slept for exactly 11 hours and 40 minutes. Unfortunately I woke up from my mesmerizing dream because of an unnecessary phone call from my dad. Then I went to the hospital my dad works to meet him there and me, my dad and one of his friends went to a buffet around the corner and we ate the best toasts ever made. Then we went to the other end of Istanbul just to get 2 black and white emulsions for my old-fashioned Zenit SLR camera. After that long journey daddy dropped me back to mum's. After 10 minutes of daydreaming on my bed I got a sudden phone call from my mum, she told me that we had to got to the Asian side of Istanbul; So I had to rush out of my bed, put on clothes, buy some biscuits, clean my room and take Lucky and go out in maximum 10 minutes. (My mum thinks that I can do all that in 10 minutes and claims that she does those all the time.) We went to the Asian side, mum went to the beauty saloon (apparently thats why she wanted me to do those things in such a short time) and I waited her for 2 hours. Then we took one of my friends from her place, our actual plan was to study for the upcoming chemistry exam for the following 2 days. We didn't even open the chemistry book, we watched TV and gossiped all night long instead. The next we studied chemistry for 5 hours non-stop. After that torture-like chemistry lesson, we had absolutely no potassium left in our tiny little brains that had shrunk because John Dalton, Gay-Lussac, Lavosier, Amadeo Avagadro and all other known scientist's laws. After we dropped her back to her house I got this sudden stomach ache. For the last 2 hours my skin is green, I've got a fever that keeps increasing and I can't keep my eyelids open. This wouldn't have happened if I just slept... Anyway all I can do is sleep and hope to feel better when I wake up... Bye bye for now! Wish me good luck for the physics/chemistry exams! I almost forgot, I've been visiting filemagazine.com for the past 3 days and I loved this project but I can't upload the photos because of a reason I don't know. Don't forget to check out this link: http://www.filemagazine.org/projects/taiwan/

Illogical Logic

Hey there!
I know I haven't been updating blog and I'm really sorry. I can't even find a reason why I didn't, however here I am! Now that I'm a high schooler everything is more complicated nowadays. Maybe that's the reason I couldn't find time to update my blog... All in all, I've got lots and lots and lots of things to say like: strange courses like geography, math and history kill me! I just make some sort of pillow with my books (don't even ask if it works or not because in courses like that you can even sleep on a wild crocodile and feel like you are sleeping in the softest bed ever made) and croon all lesson long. Now we are in the exam week and it's even worse. This is the question I've been asking myself since the day we started learning "logic" in math: Why on earth we need to know logic?! It's THE most ironic topic that I've EVER learned. It's called "logic" but makes no sense at all. My teacher says that math is based on this topic and people use it to make all the electronic devices we know bla bla bla bla. Actually it's not hard but when I come across a question like [ ( ∀ x ∈ N, x² = 3x ≥ 0 ) ] ⇔ [ ( ∃ x ∈ N, x = 5) ]' I do nothing but stop and stare. Here is the answer: {[ ( ∃ x ∈ N, x² = 3x < 0 ) ] ∨ [ ( ∃ x ∈ N, x = 5) ]} ∧ {[(∀ x ∈ N, x ≠ 5) ] ∨ [ ( ∀ x ∈ N, x² = 3x ≥ 0 ) ] }. I believe there is nothing left to say. I admit that it is really simple but this-is-not-math. The "Math" I know is done with numbers. You add, subtract, multiply, divide, take the square root, find the sin/cos/tan e.t. but you calculate them all with NUMBERS not strange letters that mean "there exists at least...". I'm just sick of school, especially maths (clearly). My 7th grade maths teacher Mr. Johnson(*) had told us that maths was for lazy people, maths made life easier. He is right however "logic" even turns my sweetest dreams into a nightmares that make me want to wake up screeming in agony. Even though my math exam about logic was great I don't understand why we learn it. As my Turkish teacher Mr. Tuncer said today "Math is the most important thing you learn in school." (we asked him if he understood maths or liked it he answered both of the questions saying: "of course not").

I feel relieved :) I have been wanting to say these all along! Now I can enjoy reading Jane Austen's "Pride & Prejudice". It's raining now and I'm curled under the coziest blanket in the universe so it's the best time to read a book. Oops one thing missing! A warm cup of hot chocolate... Gotta go now guys and gals, bye bye for today!

(*) You know the the saying "You don't know what you got untill it's gone" right? Well, now I understand why Mr. Johnson was such a great teacher because high school math teachers are worse than TORTURE.

I Don't Understand This Carbon-Based Life Form

Lucky and his blanky (sponsored by: Turkish Airlines)

Hi everyone, I'm going to introduce you someone special today : Lucky, by beloved dog. Although he is 3 years old he is been living with me since he was 1.5. He is a complex life form whom I have troubles understanding. He is the strangest dog you can ever see. Even though he is a terrier he's character changes every single day. One day he thinks he is a wild pittbull and barks at everyone. One day he is a hyperactive golden retriever who wants to play with every single living/non-living thing around. One day he is a fat lazy cat that won't come out of it's cozy warm bed no matter what. The other day he is e small flexy lizard that you can't predict where he will be next. 2 days later he gallops the house just like a wild horse. Lately he has been acting like a buck. He jumps over me in the mornings like a buck starts running as if he has seen a predetor coming that way. Even though he is quite strange I love him. He is like a brother I never had. He's a baby that will never grow up (he never sleeps without his blanky) but he is the best listener you'll ever see. Like most of the dogs he understands your feelings. When I feel blue he never brings me one of his toys to play, he just comes near me, he puts his tiny little nose right under my hand while I ly on my bed. If I'm feeling angry he does something funny to make me forget about everything. When I'm feeling content he just brings one of his toys to me and pushes it towards my hands to show that he wants to play. He is strange, silly, unpredictable, playful and he is hungry for love all the time. Even though he bites me sometimes I will love him forever&always.
