Birthdays were like an obsession for me when I was younger. When I was at kindergarten we used to celebrate everyone's birthdays at school and I always envied the birthday kid. Sometimes my jealousy would go beyond the limit and I would get frustrated. I would go home and ask my parents why it's their birthday instead of mine (a bit selfish, isn't it?). I wanted it to be my birthday every day. (please please please don't think I'm paranoid) Not because of the gifts (sincerely), I was just enchanted by the atmosphere around me. I loved it when people hugged me and kissed me. (I was the loving-kind (I still am), I was addicted to expressing love, I said "I love you" to my loved ones at every chance I got and I hugged them and kissed them all the time, I still do)
Now I still love birthdays but I'm aware of the fact that it can't be my birthday every day. Anyway today was amazing, I realized that I love my friends and family SO much. The weather was delightful, a perfect spring day. The sun was shining, not a single cloud in the sky. During photography lesson I decided to sit in front of the open window. The gardeners were cutting the lawn and you could smell the scent of the freshly cut grass from the classrooms. Isn't it just perfect? I was listening to Bittersweet Symphony then and that atmosphere just took me away. I started daydreaming and thinking. That was when I realized that, then I was truly happy. I don't know why, it might be a happiness-rush. I could feel the positive energy inside me, right inside my chest. I felt as if someone was shaking me, like an impatient neighbour rapidly knocking the door. I felt my soul inside my body, hitting every border to get out and be free, to get out and dance all around. I would have done it if the bell didn't rang.
Now, I don't want this day to end but I have to leave the stage for the other ones... One last thing: right now I'm really happy to be alive and to be young and energetic. I'm glad I was born, thanks mom thanks dad I love you both.
xoxo
