yello

hey there! I'm feeling over the moon right now. I don't have a specific reason for it. The past few days were absolutely great! I took some amazing photos (check them out at http://www.flickr.com/photos/burcekabaoglu/ I'm expecting comments!), got out of my gloomy mood, laughed a lot etc. I learned something really important; I learned how to be happy about every single positive thing in my life. Life's short and I can't waste time being blue. I don't have the time to even think about the bad things that happen. I'm young, lively and energetic, why be sad?
The spring is on its way, this makes me happy. Although I'm the ultimate fan of winter I just realized that I missed sunshine. I saw some blossomed trees. I hope the weather doesn't get colder, I wouldn't want those lovely pink flowers to freeze and die.
I've been listening to music constantly; putting on my earphones and dancing around the house all the time. This is actually a nice habit of mine. When I have nothing else to do I do this. It's basically a party for one ;) I don't want to sound crazy; but try it, you'll see what I mean. Don't try hard to dance, just do some random moves, let the moves express yourself. This is the best way to get rid of the extra energy inside you. Since I can't do any sports I dance instead. Try it!

Here are some of my recent favorite songs:

make it mine- jason mraz
cupid- jack johnson
wreckless love- alicia keys
michelle- the beatles
kids- mgmt
electric feel- mgmt
smiley faces- gnarls barkley

confessions of the geography victim

I have a geography quiz tomorrow first thing in the morning. It's going to be nice, beginning the day with the cold face of my beloved geography teacher. She is not a bad person, but I just don't like the was she teaches. She doesn't care if the students learn something or not; she just tells that day's subject and walks right out of class when the bell rings. I've never seen a smile on her face. Anyway, unlike the previous term I decided to study for geography this semester. I know it will help me but it is worse than torture. After 2 hours of studying extra geography this afternoon, I feel like I'm being chased by isotherm maps and the layers of the atmosphere are orbiting my head... I have too sleep or else I'll go delirious.

we are the people

I'm too tired today, as usual, and my knee hurts too bad. I did some different+harder exercises at physical therapy this afternoon. I realized that it is too early for me to even run... I've been doing some back-to-back sessions with myself; listening to my old favorite songs, looking at old pictures, reading my old diaries, looking at yearbooks etc... And I can't keep myself away from listening We Are The People -Empire of the Sun and falling in love with it over and over again. The lyrics, the melody the voices of the singers just take me away. Suddenly I'm in a dried up lake, desperately tyring to find water, dancing under every shadow under the blazing sun and most importantly singing this song out loud. No, not singing, crying out this song to find someone to keep me some company. I'm hoping someone hears my desperate but adventurous voice and we can go wandering in deserts, rain forests and ice lands singing this song all the time... I'm sure this is what I'll dream of tonight when I'm trying to fall asleep. While I'm dreaming Lucky will curl on my pillow and start yawning , as usual ;)

meet the clown

Even though I have a gazillion homeworks, I didn't even start doing them. I'm not in the mood. I'm kind of moody actually, just like a clown. A clown who changes his mood with the paint on his face and his mimics. When I got back home, while I was looking for my long lost USB, again, I found these face-paints. I decided to paint my face. I decided to be a clown first, then a pirate then a sad gal. I couldn't do them separately so I decided to be all of them at one. It became a game that I played with myself. Childish but fun. You should have seen mom's face when she saw me like that, hilarious.
p.s. I'm not good at face painting as you can see. The things on my eyelids should have looked like crosses if I had drawn them properly and the black/white thing under my left eye should have looked like a tear.

highlights of the weekend

I had an huge fight with my best friend on Saturday, we're still not talking
I went to Beyoğlu on Saturday and took some magnificent photos
Learned some delightful songs
Had a bad/boring Valentine's Day
Today was 95% gloomy
I've got a new favorite song: in a manner of speaking- nouvelle vague

I would have written something much more longer, given details but I would have no space left for the photos. Hope you like them :)
you can find some more at http://www.flickr.com/photos/burcekabaoglu BUT in a while cause I can't upload them right now, gotta watch Star Wars. May the force be with you!

?

Today I was quite emotional, I still am. I was eager to take some nice photos with my new camera so hanged out at the city centre for a while, by myself. I wanted to distract myself with taking photos but it didn't work. I had some important thinking to do so I couldn't focus on photography. I've made some important decisions about myself. I had an efficient me-time. After that mom, her friends and I went to an opening of an art gallery. It was quite boring for me. Anyway when I got back home, I looked at the photos I took. Absolute disgrace. Anyone could have taken those with any cyber-shot camera. I was in the mood for crying so I watched Tom Hanks's film The Green Mile. I had never cried so hard before, it felt good though. I'm still not done thinking. I guess this weekend is going to be another gloomy weekend after all...
p.s. check out the tiny question mark in the photo. I realized it was there when I uploaded it on my notebook. nice isn't it?

looking-glass, looking-glass,
tell me once and for all...
